KUALA LUMPUR (April 19): SCP Inanam Sdn Bhd's industrial shop offices — dubbed Inanam Capital — has raked in 70% sales since its launch less than two months ago.

The industrial development located in Inanam, Kota Kinabalu sits on 17 acres of land, with a total built-up area of 800,000 sq ft. It is considered one of the largest developments of its kind in Inanam.

Inanam Capital comprises 184 3-storey industrial showroom shop offices, spread over eight blocks. Each lot is made up of three floors, with built-up areas ranging from 3,574 sq ft to 5,540 sq ft. Prices range from RM1.3 million to RM2.2 million. Each 3-storey lot will be sold with three strata titles.

The company believes that the strong take-up of the
project is due to its unique concept of showroom-style shop offices in an industrial area.

According to SCP property division director Calvin Low, this is the first time an industrial area in Kota Kinabalu is seeing such innovative design. "Features such as full height glass frontage on the first and second floors, a 24ft wide premise and ground floors tailored for industrial loading capacity of 5KN per sq m make the units suitable for many different types of businesses, from light industrial to commercial and retail," he said.

"We are pleased with the market's quick acceptance of Inanam Capital — and with only 53 lots left to sell, it's a good start for SCP as a new developer in Sabah. We will be launching another project in Kota Kinabalu — a gated 3-storey residential development in Kolombong — later this year, and we hope that it will garner the same level of interest," Low said.

Inanam Capital is due to be completed in 2014.

SCP Group was established in 1996 and has been involved in major property investments including car parks, office buildings and property development. SCP's property division has three million sq ft of residential and commercial developments that are either completed, under way or about to be launched.

Currently, SCP focuses on projects in the Klang Valley and Sabah.
